A Syrupy Ending to Internet Dating

4 years ago I was on one of my favorite internet dating sites; I had been a member for a while and even went on a date or two. All things were ok but the lack of real potentials was starting to get to me. That was until I saw her; she was going to end up being my future wife. After about three weeks of chatting back and forth via email we decided to meet. I can be a rather traditional guy in some cases and was adamant that I treat her to dinner.

I have a local French restaurant which happens to be a Brasserie and for those that don’t know a Brasserie is basically traditional French cooking. Nothing too fancy just cook old fashioned French comfort food. The restaurant is owned by a Parisian that has been living in North America for 20 years, his accent is still strong and he is quite amusing guy to watch. This was in my mind a perfect place for a first date, nice but not too fancy.

The date not only went remarkably but in less than 4 months we were talking about moving in with each other. 9 months after our first date I was asking for her hand in marriage. Now that we have been married for 3 years I can honestly say life is great and only getting better. For me what makes this internet dating story have such a sweet ending was what happened to me this morning.

4 years ago I was a bachelor, having fun but missing something in my life and 4 years later I was playing with my daughter during work hours, how sweet life has been to me.

Now this doesn’t mean that this will happen to you, that being said if you don’t give new things a chance I can guarantee you those things that you are wishing for will never happen. Internet online dating is not a new thing however for some it can still be perceived as something that only losers use. I can tell you from my experience there are literally millions of great people online right now looking for a mate. Who knows maybe you can be as lucky as I have been.

What you need to do is find dating sites that suites your needs and make a profile. Heck today there are free internet dating sites that are really good so money isn’t an excuse. Find a good photo of yourself that isn’t older than six months, if you don’t have one ask a friend to take a picture of you. Complete your profile as much as you can, this really does increase the amount of emails you will receive. If you are a girl or guy don’t be shy, start emailing other users. Internet dating takes the worry out of being rejected, if someone says they’re not interested, not big deal it’s not like you are in a bar and have to walk back to your friends and tell them what happened. Lastly be honest about who you are, this will only save you stress and time down the road. Best of luck and remember good things come to those that make them happen.
